Taryn Dubois (2017) is a Ph.D. student in historical musicology. Originally from North Battleford, Saskatchewan, she completed her B.Mus in trumpet performance at Brandon University and an M.A. in musicology at the University of Toronto. Her research interests focus on Italian balli grandi of the late nineteenth century, and Canadian music. In 2017, and in collaboration with another student at the University of Toronto, she produced a podcast series on the provocative opera Louis Riel and its 50th anniversary production by the Canadian Opera Company. She has also served as a musician in the Canadian Armed Forces, and spent four summers with the Band of the Ceremonial Guard in Ottawa.
