Emily Korzeniewski is PhD candidate in Music History. Before beginning her doctoral studies, she completed master’s degrees at the University of Oregon in both Music Composition, under Robert Kyr and David Crumb, and Musicology, under Lori Kruckenberg. Emily’s dissertation, “Machaut’s Rhythms in a Changing Notational World,” continues work developed in her master’s thesis on the fourteenth-century poet-composer Guillaume de Machaut and the mensural notation within his complete-works manuscripts. In her free time, she enjoys running, quilting, and playing with her cat, Max.
