Jade Conlee recently published a chapter in the new edited volume, Radio Art and Music: Culture, Aesthetics, Politics (Lexington Books). Her chapter is entitled, “The Bad Violin’s Good Politics: Music of Protest and Disavowal in The Jack Benny Program” and discusses musical comedy, race, and class in American Golden Age radio.
