Jun Luke Foster

Jun Luke Foster is the embodiment of the scholar-artist, a classical pianist who has performed at the highest levels, both artistically and academically. Elected to Phi Beta Kappa in his junior year, he has gone on to a flawless performance in the Ethics, Politics & Economics major. As a pianist, his performance is no less compelling. His mentors describe him as an artist who possesses both technical mastery and expressive depth. His interpretations of Mozart, Brahms, Janáček, and Beethoven demonstrate clarity of purpose and a sense of ease, even as he tackles difficult works. Through numerous first prizes in prestigious competitions and with a long list of important recitals behind him, his star is already rising on the international stage.

For his extraordinary achievements and his extraordinary promise, Yale College is proud to award the Louis Sudler Prize for excellence in the performing arts to Jun Luke Foster.

Molly Elise Houlahan

Molly Elise Houlahan arrived at Yale as a seasoned stage actor, and quickly discovered her gift for directing. Double majoring in Film Studies and Theater Studies, she plunged into the study of writing, directing, performance, dramaturgy, and film analysis, and became one of the theater community’s most sought-after directors. She has now directed nearly a dozen productions, from two-person shows to the extravaganza Hair, from the classics to new works written by her classmates, and as a rising senior last summer, she earned a coveted spot in the New York International Fringe Festival. To every one of her projects she has brought a powerful creative vision, which culminated this spring in a spellbinding musical adaption of the children’s book, The Paperbag Princess.

For her extraordinary achievements and her extraordinary promise, Yale College is proud to award the Louis Sudler Prize for excellence in the creative arts to Molly Elise Houlahan.
