Clifton Boyd, 2nd year PhD student, is founder and committee member of Project Spectrum, a coalition of faculty members and graduate students devoted to the issue of diversity at all levels of involvement in music theory, musicology, and ethnomusicology. They are organizing a symposium titled Diversifying Music Academia: Strengthening the Pipeline, which will take place at the UTSA Institute of Texan Cultures on October 31 and November 1, 2018. The symposium will immediately precede the AMS/SMT joint annual meeting in San Antonio, TX. Yale alum Joe Straus is also on the committee.
