Carmel Raz, a sixth-year graduate student in the Department of Music, recently had papers accepted for meetings of the International Society for the History of Neuroscience (Brussels, June 2014) and the History of Science Society (Chicago, November 2014). Another recognition of the interdisciplinarity and originality of her work is her upcoming publication (November 2014) “’The Expressive Organ Within Us’: Ether, Ethereality, and Early Romantic Ideas about Music and the Nerves“ in the journal 19th-Century Music.
