The class will combine a discussion of Norm Lewis’s career, Q & A and student performance critique

NORM LEWIS’s Broadway credits include the revival of Once on This Island, The Gershwins’ Porgy & Bess, Sondheim on Sondheim, The Little Mermaid, Les Misérables, Chicago, Amour, The Wild Party, Side Show, Miss Saigon, and The Who’s Tommy. In May 2014, he made history as The Phantom of the Opera’s first African American Phantom on Broadway.  Off Broadway credits include Sweeney Todd at Barrow Street, Dessa Rose, Shakespeare in the Park’s The Tempest, The Two Gentlemen of Verona, Captain Courageous, and A New Brain. His regional credits include Ragtime, Dreamgirls, First You Dream, Sweeney Todd, The Fantasticks and most recently The Music Man at Kennedy Center.  On TV, Norm was featured in the “Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert!,” alongside John Legend, Sara Bareilles, and Alice Cooper, and has been a frequent performer on PBS “Live From Lincoln Center” (Showboat, Norm Lewis: Who Am I?, and New Year’s Eve: A Gershwin Celebration).  Other TV:  “Scandal” (Senator Edison Davis) “Daytime Divas,” “Gotham,” “The Blacklist,” and “Blue Bloods.”  In addition to three AUDELCO awards, Norm Lewis has been nominated for the Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics and Drama League awards.
