Dawn Upshaw to join the Department of Music

The Department of Music is thrilled to announce that Dawn Upshaw will join us as Professor in the Practice, starting in July 2025! A six-time Grammy Award winner, MacArthur Fellow, and Opera Hall of Fame inductee, Prof. Upshaw is a classically trained singer known particularly for expanding the boundaries of vocal performance and contemporary music. At Yale, she will teach classes ranging from vocal repertory courses to the development of vocal chamber music. Welcome, Dawn Upshaw!
