Nastasia Heckendorff will give a presentation on her current postdoctoral project, entitled “Transatlantic Opera Networks in the Viennese Avantgarde: The Case of Wozzeck”.

Dr. des. Nastasia Heckendorff is a postdoctoral researcher at the Alban Berg Foundation in Vienna. In fall 2024, she is on leave, undertaking a research fellowship at the Yale Institute of Sacred Music. Nastasia completed her PhD in 2024 at the Franz Liszt Conservatory in Weimar, Germany, with a study on the complex interactions between opera and politics in the Seicento. Her main research interests include opera and music theater, with a focus on the 17th and early 20th century, authorship and artistic creative processes, as well as historical-critical music editing. Together with Michael Klaper, she is editor of the forthcoming volume „The Beginnings of Opera in Europe” (Brepols).
