The Department of Music is pleased to announce the Angel Music Resource Fund in memory of Angela and Joseph Orsene. The endowment is in support of undergraduate music and performance including visiting performers, lectures and workshops for students, and concert performances.
The inaugural residency this Winter and Spring, 2026 has been with students in the Composition Seminar. It has included multiple coachings and workshops with Jennifer Beattie, mezzo-soprano, Margaret Lancaster, flutes, Nikolas Hamblin, clarinets, and Sara Kohane, keyboards.
The culmination of the residency is a Song Festival in the Beinecke Library with premieres of new works by Yale College composers Rory Ashmeade, Tommaso Bailo, Sebastien Barrau, Julian Dans, Ethan Guan, Claire Hong, Zachary Jarvis, Collin Junus, Xi (Zoey) Lin, Isabelle Omg, Andrew Xu and Konrad Kaczmarek presented by the performers.
