Ethan Edl (2015) is a PhD student in music theory. Originally from Rochester, Minnesota, he received a B.A. in Music and Mathematics with honors from Grinnell College, and an MM in Music Theory from Indiana University. His research interests are centered on music from the 20th and 21st centuries, and include transformational theory, mathematical and computational approaches to music, music cognition, theories of musical time, narrative and meaning, and popular music. He also enjoys cooking and watching really good movies.
