Bronwen Garand-Sheridan is a Ph.D student in Music Theory.  She holds a BMus and a MMus in Oboe Performance from the University of Manitoba. While at the University of Manitoba she completed a paper on Stigmergy in the Montpellier Codex, which she presented at the 51st International Congress on Medieval Studies.  Her research interests are centered on music perception and cognition with a focus on extra-musical associations, corpus analysis, and tonal pitch space modeling.

In her spare time she volunteers for Cancer Care Manitoba and the Canadian Partnership Against Cancer, where she participates in several groups aimed at improving treatment protocols for adolescents and young adults with cancer.
